These Farndon clients wanted to be able to work from home and have a designated area for this. As they would have clients visiting, they needed the area to look smart. We constructed new fences, made a level area for an home office to be installed, a seating area and steps to the upper level of the garden.

My clients in Balderton wanted to be involved in the process of constructing their garden so they assisted me. I created two seating areas, one made from scratch using paving and sleepers, the other one I utilised the existing patio and pergola by adding raised beds and made slatted screening to give a more intimate feel.

A dull concrete area was made attractive by painting the fences and building raised beds and seats from wood. Photo 4 shows the planting 9 months later.

This garden in Balderton had a few nice plants when I started but also a lot of bare earth. The soil hadn’t had any nutrients added for quite a while so plenty of composted manure and a little bit of feed was added during planting. The ‘after’ photos were taken about three months after planting.
